Knowing just the basics is never enough
Knowing just the basics is never enough, especially if you are in a food safety management position or supervisory role. It is vital you not only understand the hazards and risks associated with the business but also how to meet your specific responsibilities laid down in the businesses policies and procedures.
This is especially true in food safety, were having a level 2 foundation certificate in food safety will do little to help you understand hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) food management system.
Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 Annex II Chapter XII para 2 confirms the requirement for additional training, these new hygiene regulations say that those responsible for the development and maintenance of the food safety management system in your business should have received adequate training in the application of HACCP principles.
HACCP training can be readily achieved by taking either the level 2 or level 3 recognized HACCP training certificate. At RSA Environmental Health we are very excited to be delivering these CIEH, RSPH and Highfield accredited courses.
