CIEH Corporate Membership
I would like to extend my congratulations’ to Waitrose who have become the first retailer to achieve corporate membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
The award for Corporate Membership of the CIEH was launched a year ago to recognise companies that have gone the extra mile to establish high standards of environmental health – encompassing everything from food safety and hygiene to sustainable development.
Waitrose said membership would help the business communicate more effectively about environmental health matters.
“A key benefit to our membership of the CIEH will be opportunities to help local authority enforcement officers and other members to understand the commercial challenges facing national retailers in their compliance with the law,” said Duncan Spencer, safety manager at the John Lewis Partnership.
“We will also greatly benefit from sharing ideas with the experts at CIEH and developing together effective management approaches to safety and food hygiene and occupational health.”
Organisations seeking corporate membership undergo a very robust and rigorous selection process. To quote Graham Jukes, CIEH chief executive, “The CIEH is looking to award corporate membership to organisations that not only meet internationally recognised standards of environmental health best practice – but exceed them".
Further details on becoming a CIEH Corporate Client can be found at this link: http://www.cieh.org/corporate/membership.html?terms=corporate+membership
If you are also interested in seeking this award, but have no CIEH members in your employment to assist you, then contact RSA environmental health. We have worked with the CIEH for over 14 years and employ qualified environmental health officers who understand the CIEH’s ethos and can work with you to achieve this prestigious award.
